Clinical Laboratory

We provide Clinical Laboratory services at the following locations:

Medellín:  Calle 59 No. 50 A 14 (Prado Centro neighborhood). The schedule for taking samples is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Sabaneta:  Mayorca Shopping Center – Local 9955 (basement). The hours for taking samples are Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm and Saturdays from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.

Routine test results are delivered within 1 business day after the sample is taken. Specialized tests will depend on the complexity of the test and their delivery time will be informed at the time of taking the test. All results are sent by email except for HIV tests.

Our packages are designed to assess the bodily functions that contribute to overall health. We all have different needs that vary depending on age, sex, and pre-existing health conditions. That's why we offer different options that can be tailored to each individual case and used as a diagnostic aid or for monitoring existing conditions.

• Hepatic  

Through blood samples, we can perform reliable measurements of liver enzymes, bilirubin, and clotting times, which helps us evaluate liver function. 

• Thyroid 

Through blood samples we can detect levels of thyroid hormones and thus identify their different alterations. 

• Renal 

Through blood and urine samples, we can perform a reliable measurement of creatinine, urea, presence of proteins, bacteria and other factors that may affect kidney function. 

• Diabetes 

Through blood and urine samples, we can detect increases or decreases in glycemia (blood sugar) used for the diagnosis or control of diabetes mellitus.

• Osseous  

Through blood samples we can detect levels of calcium, vitamin D, thyroid hormone and other components necessary to maintain our bone health. 

In addition, at Escano we perform Bone Densitometry, a study used to measure bone density and therefore with which the diagnosis of osteoporosis is made.

• Pre-surgical

Through blood and urine samples, we can identify alterations in the body that may affect you during a surgical procedure, including heart conditions through an Electrocardiogram.

• Hypertension

Through blood and urine samples, we can detect and monitor high blood pressure, which occurs because the force of the blood against the artery walls is excessive. This package is important because hypertension often does not present obvious symptoms, however, it can cause long-term health problems.

• Sexual Health

Through blood and urine samples, we can validate the pre-existence of sexually transmitted diseases or their active state, seeking to contribute to the well-being and improve the quality of life of people, taking prevention as a vital part of maintaining healthy relationships.

• Vital Memory

It applies as a medical check-up for adults with behavioral changes, memory impairment, involuntary movements, among others, where through laboratory tests, diagnostic aids and a neurological review, comprehensive and targeted management of pathologies such as senile dementia can be carried out.

• Headache Pack

It is geared towards patients who wish to diagnose the origin of their HEADACHE, whether due to conditions such as menstrual period, photophobia, fatigue, hunger, stress, among others; where through laboratory tests, diagnostic aids and review by Neurology, a comprehensive and targeted management of the headache can be carried out.

• Comprehensive Adult

This applies as a medical check-up for older patients who want to monitor their health status preventively, where through laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging studies and medical review, we can detect conditions and preexisting conditions that may affect the health of the older adult.

• Gastric Health

It applies as a medical check-up for patients over 14 years of age, where through laboratory tests and medical review, from a preventive approach we can detect conditions and preexisting conditions that may affect the health of the gastric system.

If the patient wishes and has a pre-existing condition, the plan may include additional studies such as Endoscopy and/or Colonoscopy.

• Women's Health

It applies as a female medical check-up for patients of any age, where through laboratory tests, ultrasound, mammography and medical review, from a preventive approach we can detect conditions and preexisting conditions that may affect female health.

• Male 40+

This applies as a male medical check-up for patients over 40 years of age, where through laboratory tests, ultrasound and medical review, from a preventive approach we can detect conditions and preexisting conditions that may affect male health.

The Escano Clinical Laboratory offers the Home Sampling service in cases where you cannot travel to one of our offices, we will provide you with timely care in the comfort of your home. 

This service complies with all necessary biosecurity measures and has highly qualified personnel for sample collection.

We provide service from Monday to Saturday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon)

We have coverage from Medellín to Sabaneta, it does NOT cover Bello or La Estrella.
