It is important that before taking an exam you check the services we provide at each location, as these may vary.

At Escano we serve private users, patients with Prepaid Insurance and Medicine, ARL, agreements with entities and doctors, and also EPS users who have direct orders for Escano.

Yes, for all services you must make an appointment in advance. Except for the Electrocardiogram service, which is performed without an appointment, but we suggest you check the schedules here.

For Laboratory (Sample Collection) you also do not need an appointment for most tests. However, we recommend that you check schedules and preparations first here.

Home studies MUST ALWAYS be scheduled.

The first thing to clarify is that the studies that normally generate claustrophobia are Resonance and Tomography, since these are taken on equipment that people who suffer from this phobia are usually afraid of. 

However, in Tomography (TAC) the studies are very short. They take approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

In Resonance it is a little different due to the duration but we will give you data that will reassure you so you can take your exam:

-The equipment is spacious, you won't feel the upper part literally on top of your body.

-The Resonator makes loud sounds, but this is completely normal. For this reason, you will be given hearing aids that will isolate you from the noise and you will feel much less of it. 

-The healthcare staff (both Technologist and Nurse) will always be watching you through a small glass window, therefore, you will never be completely alone. 

-Before the exam, you will be given an emergency bell that you will hold in your hands. If you feel very scared, or require special assistance, you can press it and you will be immediately attended to. 

-If you are really afraid of being locked up, you can enter the Resonator with a companion so that you don't feel alone. Although the truth is that it is best for you to enter alone and for the other person to stay in the Waiting Room. 

-If you are definitely certain that you will not be able to withstand the test, you should do it under anesthesia to ensure that you cooperate with the test and that it can be completed satisfactorily.

For many tests you will not need a doctor's order to undergo studies. However, for CT scans it is mandatory to present a doctor's order.

There are many tests that require you to prepare in advance. For example, endoscopies, colonoscopies, contrast tests, some ultrasounds and certain X-rays. For this reason, it is VERY important that when scheduling your appointment you pay special attention to the instructions so that the test goes well.
