- The patient must inform the doctor at the time of scheduling the appointment if he or she has braces, splints, stents, external braces, valves, pacemakers, splinters, or other metal elements.
- Patients with braces must come in for a five (5) minute screening to determine if they can be tested. Note: For cranial, facial, TMJ, and cervical spine examinations only.
- Inform if you have a history of allergies or known reactions to contrast media, diabetes, or kidney failure.
- Women: Inform if you are pregnant or suspect you are pregnant.
- The patient must be accompanied by an adult on the day of the exam.
- If the patient is a minor, he or she must be accompanied by an older relative.
- The hospitalized patient must have a cannulated vein and come with an adult relative.
- The patient and his/her companion should not bring metal objects (chains, rings, earrings, etc.).
- For Brain and Face MRIs only, your hair should be clean (free of gels and hair gel) and your face should be free of makeup (mascara, eyeliner, powder, etc.).
- Be there half an hour (30 minutes) before the procedure for administrative procedures.
- Fast for four (4) hours. The previous meal should be light.
- Do not stop taking control medications, they should be taken with only three (3) sips of water.
- For simple abdominal studies, a (4) hour fast is also required.
- Identity document.
- Order in force (does not apply to individuals).
- Complete medical history with data that justify the study.
- MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds and previous studies.
- Blood creatinine test not more than thirty days old (30 days).
